Taking Exams

Well, it’s that time of year when I hear lots of friends and family say, “I’m taking exams”.

No one enjoys them but they are useful.

You don’t want to spend all those days and nights studying and not knowing if you actually learned anything.

In life, we must all give ourselves an exam and the subject is salvation.

Do not worry though, it is a short exam.

Question #1: Do I need to be saved?

Answer: Yes.

Romans 3:9~ “What then? Are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin”.

If we can not understand how terrible sin is, we won’t appreciate the greatness of salvation.

Question #2: Can I save myself?

Answer: No.

2 Corinthians 5:21~ “For He (God) hath made Him (Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him (Christ)”.

He took our Hell down here, so we might have His Heaven up yonder. He did that for us.

Question #3: How many things must I do?

Answer: 1.

Believe that Christ died for our sins (Acts 16:31), that He buried our sins with Him, then He rose from the dead for our justification (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

Well, that wasn’t so bad of an exam, let’s go celebrate!

Ephesians 5:19~ “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord”.

This devotion is a word from Timothy Corum. We pray it is enriching to you the reader and that it simply lays out the conditions of salvation.

God bless!
