“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light” ~ 1 Peter 2:9
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” ~ 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
The Bible is the most interesting book ever written. Undebatable. Whether you agree or not, this is an objective fact. No other book was authored by- God.
With it being the most interesting book, it also has some interesting nuances that go with it! Let’s talk about its grammar for a second. Look to the verses above. In the King James Version of Scripture you see the word, “ye.” “Ye” is an older English form of “you.” But not just any old you like “you” or “I.” “Ye” is “you” but plural.
A beautiful truth about Scripture is that whenever God interacted with humanity, he offered salvation to a large group of people and had a plan to see salvation come to all humanity.
When God sent His Son Jesus Christ to Earth to fulfill the Gospel, He did for you (singular). He did for you (plural). He did it so that all can freely join the Body of Christ and have the greatest of inheritance. God lavished His love on ye as free gift of grace, by faith alone.
Simply believe that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again on your behalf. Forever to live as “ye” over “me.”
