Desire and Thanks

Father. This is a prayer of thanksgiving. I desire to make this known.

I ask nothing of You now, because I am overwhelmed by the truth that You have already given everything. At times, I forget this, but God here and now, I recognize-

You are good and the only one deserving of the title, “awesome.” Keep my lips from vainly speaking this word. I am in awe of You and the Holy Trinity.

The awe I am in is far beyond appreciation and thanksgiving is such a mediocre word for what you deserve (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Yet, at this time, language is so finite, and you are infinite, so I acknowledge the disconnect (Colossians 3:15).

Nonetheless, you know what I need without me even saying a word. Therefore, Father, take this prayer as a sacrifice of what I could ask for and rather, I want.

That is to glorify you.
