Reading of Colossians 1:1-14

1. Position

a. “The Devil knows he cannot touch our position, so he attacks our condition.” ~ Anonymous

• 2 Corinthians 5:17
  • Only God can identify with true perfection.

2. Christ; Head of all Principalities (2:10)

a. Romans 12:5

• When one hears all principalities, some only think of the Church, but this verse indicates Christ is Lord over all evil principalities as well.
  • God is holy. We cannot attain perfection, we can only respond to His.
    • Romans 3:24; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

b. As we walk in Christ, we should desire: (Individually & Collectively)

• Fulness
• Growth
• Increase
• Maturity

c. 1 Corinthians 3:1

• No longer babes in Christ
  • Faith is a catalyst

d. What we practically increase in:

• Patience
• Experience
• Hope
• Assurance
• Faith
• Love
• Knowledge
• Understanding
• Wisdom
• Judgment
• Thankfulness
• Strength

3. God’s Will

a. Salvation (1 Timothy 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9)

b. To grow in all things (Philippians 1:9-10; 1 Thessalonians 5)

• Ephesians 4:15; Romans 3:28 ~ “Justified by faith”
  • If God hid His will, you would not find it
    • Romans 5:1;8-9~ We have peace with God

4. Give thanks; 1 Thessalonians 5:18

a. Christ is “everything” in this verse; we are placed in Him
