Reading of Colossians 1:1-14

  1. Position

a. “The Devil knows he cannot touch our position, so he attacks our condition.” ~ Anonymous

2. Christ; Head of all Principalities (2:10)

a. Romans 12:5

  • When one hears all principalities, some only think of the Church, but this verse indicates Christ is Lord over all evil principalities as well.

b. As we walk in Christ, we should desire: (Individually & Collectively)

  • Fulness
  • Growth
  • Increase
  • Maturity

c. 1 Corinthians 3:1

  • No longer babes in Christ
    • Faith is a catalyst

d. What we practically increase in:

  • Patience
  • Experience
  • Hope
  • Assurance
  • Faith
  • Love
  • Knowledge
  • Understanding
  • Wisdom
  • Judgment
  • Thankfulness
  • Strength

3. God’s Will

a. Salvation (1 Timothy 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9)

b. To grow in all things (Philippians 1:9-10; 1 Thessalonians 5)

4. Give thanks; 1 Thessalonians 5:18

a. Christ is “everything” in this verse; we are placed in Him
