Jesus Loves the Little Children

The world is a dark place with this darkness seemingly evolving each day.

Although we know that we do not wrestle with flesh and blood, it often seems as if the battleground for between darkness and light rests upon the shoulders of children.

The battleground for contrasting ideologies erupts within the desks of young ones.

50% of American marriages end in divorce, thus leaving children with deep seated internal turmoil of such a dramatic life change.

Abuse, feelings of “smallness”, and seeing a world constantly evolving with no feeling of control or anything to grasp on.

This is just a glimpse of the calamity a child may face in the 21st century.

It may be easy to write these small people’s concerns off as a result of a depraved world. Although accurate, it does not answer the 5 year old who is oh so good at asking the question,

“Why?”

Even if we can not fabricate a practical answer to such a good inquiry, we could offer something possibly more valuable.

Hope. Grace. Love.

These are Godly characteristics and all things that Christ desires for children.

God made children and He loves children.

That is why many, many, many times, God makes provisions for children and the conduct He expects for adults to adhere to for them (Psalm 127:3-5; Proverbs 17:6; Matthew 18:10; Ephesians 6:4).

So, my request is this. Whatever child or children are in your life today.

Give them grace.

Train them up and gracefully instruct them so they may know how they ought to respond to transition and ungodliness.

Raise them up to understand the truth found in an old song. The truth that Jesus loves the little children of the world. And that Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and rose again for them just as much as He did adults (1 Timothy 2:6; 1 John 2:2).

I hope this message is a challenge to all who may see a child today.

God bless!
