At the end of an earlier post on Enriching Grace, the devotion ended with the verse Ephesians 5:19.
I thought more on that verse and how one of the most precious things that God ever created was the human voice.
The second part of the verse speaks of making melody in your heart to the Lord.
The definition of melody is “an agreeable succession of sounds”.
God wants our behavior, prayers, and relationships to sing a song with one voice- “His”.
Your voice holds the power to speak life or speak death.
The voice has been used as medicine when a hymn of the Lord is sung at the bedside of one who is near death or to sing a lullaby to help a restless child.
And, when Jesus cried with a loud voice it shook the world.
So amplify your voice. Even if you can’t physically use your voice, we all have a voice within our heart.
Let it sing out,
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”.
Hallelujah!
This devotion is a word from Timothy Corum. We pray it is enriching to you the reader and that it illustrates the God-given power of the voice!
God bless!
