“Coffee is always a good idea” – Unknown
3 in 4 Americans drink coffee everyday. It is the second most consumed beverage in America behind water. The coffee industry is worth 80 billion dollars. Coffee is tastes good, is moderately affordable, and it makes us feel good. But how does it do that?
The short answer that many Americans immediately know is caffeine. Duh…
But how does caffeine do it? Well the simple answer, its blocks the molecule in your brain which lets you get tired! Everyone has something called adenosine receptors which through out the day collects adenosine and makes you sleepy. Caffeine however fills the place that allows adenosines to do its job; therefore, caffeine keeps you from ever getting tired!
In the same right, there is a God in Heaven who gave everything so that we can be sealed in His Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13). He gave everything so that no matter what the world throws, we do not have to lose hope or joy, because we have the Holy Spirit acting as our caffeine (Romans 15:13). He energizes, strengthens, and encourages us when the rest of the world only sees defeat (Colossians 1:28-29).
When the world throws adenosine and we should be getting bogged down, we can look to Christ for our renewal and restoration.
