Here Comes the Sun

When leaving the house one morning recently, there was a beautiful sunrise that nearly took my breath away. It was not raining.

Nearly one minute down the road, it was raining, but then- within another minute, the precipitation ceased.

But then I smiled. I had an epiphany. This is just like life. Our being is ever changing cycle of sunny and rain. But like I in that moment, it is the rain that makes you appreciate the Sun for all its worth. Truly, sometimes you can’t help but smile at the beauty and sound of rain, metaphorically and physically.

As you seek your destination of Heaven, there are going to be times when it rains and when the sun shines. Sometimes, the rain will pop up in the middle of your sunny day.

It is important in these moments to have faith in the sufficiency of God to hold on to you (2 Corinthians 12:9). To keep driving towards the light of Heaven.

God is the God of rain (Hosea 6:3). He is the God of shine (Isaiah 60:1). God of provision (Philippians 4:19). He is the God of salvation (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

He is God come rain or shine.
