“And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them…

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.” ~ Genesis 6:1-4

Earlier this year, I had a heartbreak. And I do not take this work lightly. Heartbreak is such a strong word

Heart ~ Indicates the innermost of a person

Break ~ Indicates interruption or pause in continuity

Heartbreak is when your innermost yearning and being is paused, as a result of something traumatic.

I had an unnamed heartbreak. This was the first one in a while that had me thinking of more physical heartbreaks

It had me thinking of:

Yes, the spiritual realm. A real realm of influence

In America, where I write this, a survey came out recently by the Barna group that claims:

59% of American Christians, to some degree, do not believe that Satan is real. They believe he is just a symbol for evil.

8% said they just don’t know. The same survey says that 58% to some degree do not believe the Holy Spirit is a real being, He just represents good.

9% were not sure. Surprisingly though 64% percent of Christians stated that they believe a person can be influenced by spiritual forces.

Do you find it surprising the consensus is: Satan isn’t real, the Holy Spirit isn’t real, but demons likely are.

With this logic; people can only give into evil, but holiness will not prevail. This is where this logic leads. Therefore, no wonder pedophilia is rampant, drug overdoses kill so many, churches have become comedy bars, suicide is among top killers of young people, and our nation’s children are at an all-time for depression.

For problems to get solved, we got to believe they exist.

In Matthew 24:37-39, we find Jesus find teaching concerning the second coming of Christ. Jesus references a time when demonic influence causes an entire God-issued genocide.

This was the age of Noah, or at least the time before the flood. It was evil, but still much like it is today.

People did the same activities such as eating, drinking, and given in marriage. And who was a culprit then like now?

Satan. There is evil in the world sometimes deeper than the flesh and sin, their are dark influences. Our world is not the only the only world/realm and I am not talking about aliens (Ephesians 6:12)

There is the material world and the spiritual world; but they are both concrete and real. Look around you and let me ask you, what has changed since the days of Noah?

The flood killed the people, but didn’t kill the demons that influence the world to this day.

But flip the coin and you also have Holy influence.

“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” ~ 1 John 4:4

There are literal forces opposing righteousness in the world but the Christian doesn’t have to fret. Christ has overcome the world.already

He has forces however this allowed authority, is bound by God’s will, plan, and purposes

Job 42:2, Job confesses God sovereignty in stating, “I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.”

As Christians, we are a possessed people. Possessed by the Holy Spirit

Oxford dictionary: Possession; the state of having or owning something

When hearing the word “possessed” we often think of horror movies and demon possession. But as a Christian, you fit the description of possessed

Being possessed of the Spirit breaks the chains of darkness and essentially gives a chain of light (Acts 26:18). With light as our guide and light as our weapon, we can march on the dark forces of the world chanting,

“And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” ~ John 1:5
