Disagree. Lovingly…

There are some things that all people need: water, food, and shelter. The fourth life need is often neglected- Love.

There are four types of love discussed in the Bible:

Agape: Godly, all-encompassing love

Storge: Familial love

Eros: Romantic or sexual love

The last, I consider to be the least discussed in our culture
Philia: Friendly love & love with united the Body of Believers

Love is absolutely a necessity for life. The effect of love missing is drastic.

There is a danger of breaking fellowship with other believers. Sometimes, we allow disagreements in ideas to bring disagreements in the love that two believers share with each other.

In Acts 15:36-41, there is a disagreement between the apostle Paul and John Mark. A disagreement so sharp that they departed to different ministry locations.

This disagreement broke apart the physical relationship, but intact remained their love for each other. We know this Scripturally, because in 2 Timothy 4:11, Paul’s last letter before his martyrdom, he summons John Mark. Through it all, he calls John Mark profitable.

Arguments and differences are a byproduct of human individualism. Love is a gift of God that does not have to be broken asunder and should not be. Keep the Gospel the main thing and seek unity in Spirit!

Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment ~ 1 Corinthians 1:10
