I would like to admit something to you all- I am a Google addict.
From everything from how to air fry chicken to who is that particular person I recognize in a movie to, embarrassingly enough, how to open a Pantene pump bottle (which have I yet to do even after watching a YouTube video). I knew I had a problem.
I rarely use my brain or my brain or my own strength for that matter, which led me to have conviction about my Bible usage. This question shook me, “How often do I use my Bible as a resource?” “How often do I look up that particular person in the Bible that I could learn lessons from?”
If we utilized our Bibles as much as Google, YouTube, TikTok, and similar platforms, the question arises, “How much wiser and stronger would we be on matters of true importance. Now, I am not saying not to use Google. It is there to help.
Nonetheless, I am pointing to the a resource of much greater aid. In Colossians 1:9-10, the apostle Paul presents a far better desire for Christians. He teaches, “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.”
In this year, I personally (and if you would join me) want to Google a little less and Bible a lotta’ more.
