The Battle Is Already Won!

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:58)

Many ministers are familiar with the saying, “Whenever you see a ‘therefore’, you need to go back and see what is ‘there for’.” Chapter 15 is a chapter that has major doctrinal implications pertaining to the Gospel, resurrection, and eternity. Just prior to verse 58, Paul explains that death no longer has any dominion over humanity.

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? (1 Corinthians 15:55)

Death has no power, because Christ came and has fulfilled the Law! The Law was the strength of sin; but now, the strength of a Christian is the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 1:7). Because Christ had the victory when rising from the grave many years ago, we are living testimonies of victory.

But this is not anything we can boast of in ourselves. The battle is won by the work of the Cross and as our identity is now in Christ, we boast of Christ (Galatians 6:14). God gave us the victory so it is little comparably to simply give thanks in all that we do (Romans 12:1; 1 Corinthians 15:57).

Therefore, do not worry. We strengthened in Christ Jesus. Live alive. He has made a way and the labor we toil is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:51-54).

God bless!
