Recently I was reading from the classic devotional, “My Utmost for His Highest”, and I read an installment titled, This Experience Must Come.
In this writing Oswald Chambers recounts the story of how Elijah was taken up to Heaven, leaving the prophet Elisha alone to himself (2 Kings 2:11-12).
From this moment, he had to carry on without Elijah. Much like this story, we must live ultimately trusting in God, rather than our felloworkers.
Chambers writes, “’I cannot continue without my ‘Elijah.’ Yet God says you must continue.”
In Philippians 4:19, the Apostle Paul shows his full trust in God when stating,
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
This is not to neglect the edification that the Body of Christ is instructed to provide by the Word of God (Ephesians 4:29).
Although, realize that the source is once again, the Word of God, not man.
We must go on and we can thrive Spiritually in the riches of Christ Jesus.
We can trust God.
