Seasons of Change

Have you all noticed the weather lately?! Personally it has been so refreshing to me!

Where I live, we are currently in the throes of spring weather. The grass is a fragrant green,  the flowers are blooming in vibrant colors, and you can hear the sweet chatter of creatures waking up from their winter slumber.

Now don’t get me wrong… This time of year isn’t all that its cracked up to be.

The smelly grass can be itchy to your nose, the pollen from the flowers irritates your eyes, and the constant chirping of the woodland creatures isn’t always pleasant at 6 a.m. on Saturday mornings.

What do you think of spring? I honestly used to dislike the season. Something about all the changes in the environment stirred up anxiety about change in my own life.

Change can be uncomfortable and even scary; however, it is also necessary. God at times requires change in our life, just like He created nature to change.

Proverbs 16:9 says,

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps”.

God has a plan for each and everyone of us.

Maybe your path has suddenly taken a sharp turn and you are afraid to keep moving. I know I’ve been there many times. Why make a change in your life when everything is going just fine?

I want to encourage you by asking to take a look at the world around you. You can see caterpillars transform into butterflies, daffodils sprout up in the midst of rocky terrain, and baby birds hesitantly hatch into the new world.

There is a purpose for this season and change.

Sure, I guess the caterpillar was doing alright as a funny looking green worm, but without its metamorphosis, we would never have the captivating butterfly! The same goes for the bright daffodil, the little hatchlings, and… For YOU!

This season of change in your own life is a change for beauty! God’s plan for you may seem uncertain; however, He has wondrous things in your future.

If God has such intricate plans for the ants and the plants, wouldn’t you think His plans for you are even greater?!

Our lives and our world feel ever changing, but remember, our God never changes and neither does His love for you!

Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

So go outside, take a deep breath, and embrace the change God has for you! But don’t forget to take your allergy pills! 💓

With love, Hallie
